Journals

I started making books and albums in grade school. If I told you how important books are to me I would embarrass myself. They are by far -in terms of volume- the most that I possess. I have to hide them in closets. I have a journal with me everywhere I go. Over the years they have taken form with paintings, sketches, watercolors and collages. They hold leaves, dirt, shells, wrappers, sacred temple objects, things torn, taped, glued, peeled. Most importantly they hold everything I need them to hold. Journals have evolved into classic European and Oriental book forms. I now design them to hold photo-essays to accompany my travel experiences.
